There are many wonderful organisations and charities driven in different ways to help improve the lives of those affected by cancer and other occupational diseases.
Certain organisations specialise in tackling cancer from a scientific research perspective whilst others provide specialist information and resources relating to particular conditions. Some organisations provide varying levels of professional help and support which involves emotional and social support delivered in relaxed and conducive surroundings whilst others provide an opportunity to speak informally to someone in your position over a nice cup of tea.
Most services are delivered free of charge and provide access to qualified healthcare professionals who understand your concerns.
Common to all is the need to raise much needed funds. In the absence of Government funding and an overstretched and under resourced National Health Service more reliance than ever is placed upon kind donations and legacies from members of the public. Many organisations actively fundraise and seek sponsorship and it might be the case you would like to involve yourself further in this regard.
